Believe it or not, there was a time, some ten years ago, when I went to highschool.I never finished it, but I went for some time…That school was the most boring school in the world. It was agri-cultural school, and I never cared about that, too much.
I lived in Novi Sad, and had to go to school to one village near the city, called Futog.
Anyway, I had to catch a bus every morning at 6, after 20 minutes walk, and as I mentioned, I am lazy, and that was a true horror for me.
But there was one thing that I really liked about going to school
Shortly before I started school my brother gave me a Simon&Garfunkel tape, which I listened all the time like a lunatic. It was a Greatest hits compilation.
I don’t know what was about that tape, but I was listening to it like a hypnotized person,
walking on the road to the bus station, and then 20 minutes in the bus, and all that again when I was going back home.
That went on for months, until I dropped out of school, but there is something that’s keeping me connected to Simon&Garfunkel music.
I mean, I’m all macho now, believe me, and I like AC/DC, pork chops and beer, and I would kill a deer in cold blood if you’d ask me to, but there is something in songs like:The Boxer, America, Hazy Shade of Winter, Sound of Silence, Bookends, Wednesday morning 3 AM(this one especially),Bridge over troubled waters etc, that’s keeping me 17…
Although it might seem like I am, I am not obsessed by Paul Simon.
I had to add this.
